Here’s a bit of dark tale I wrote for a mirror themed monthly writing competition. Obviously, mirrors are a well-travelled theme in dark fiction and I think it’s a tricky one to write something really original. So instead, I’ve chosen to reflect some of the more common motifs. (~3745 words).

Prime Magazine runs a very popular monthly 53-word competition. There are some inventive winning stories packed into so few words, well worth a read. I’ve had a couple of cracks at it so far, here are my efforts.

This is a short story (<1000 words) for a competition organised by Michele Sagan and Robert D. McAdams. I’ve gone with sci-fi, which seems to be my flavour of the week. This is my first attempt at injecting some humour into a story. I wouldn’t call it a knee-slapper but hopefully it at least entertains.
