I’ve been radio silent for the majority of this year while I beaver away on my debut novel. And by beaver, I, of course, mean prevaricate, for it turns out a novel is not just a stretched-out short story. Who’d have guessed? That’s not to say I haven’t been writing any short stories. It’s just that I’ve had to be selective about the calls I answered.
The last day of November and of NaNoWriMo and I’m amazed to say I managed to get it across the line with 50,545 words with hours to spare.
Three-quarters of the way through NaNoWriMo and dare I say it’s going well. I’ve Hit the 36k target and this week has been a little easier than the first fortnight.
Half-way through NaNoWriMo and by hook or by crook, I’ve hit the 25k target. Let’s just say it’s a been a week of ups and downs as shown by the daily word count.
One week into NaNoWriMo and dare I suggest it’s going okay. I spent most of October doing everything and anything to avoid planning.
I’ve decided to dive into the deep end and have a crack at this year’s National Novel Writing Month. If you haven’t come across it NaNoWriMo is a yearly community event to write 50,000 words in the 30 days of November.
